We’re pleased to announce the appointment of John Nutter as Training & Development Director at Zing365, strengthening our commitment to supporting the evolving capability, leadership and professional standards of the insurance sector.

John joins Zing365 following a 30-year career at Aviva, where he held senior leadership roles spanning learning, professional development and organisational capability. His decision to join comes at a pivotal moment for insurance businesses and brokers, as the sector responds to increased commercial pressure, heightened competition, talent challenges and rising expectations around professional competence.

Responding to a changing insurance landscape

Across the insurance sector, there is growing recognition that compliance alone is no longer enough. While regulatory standards remain essential, organisations increasingly need learning and development that builds real capability — supporting people to perform confidently, develop professionally and contribute to sustainable growth.

John’s appointment reflects this shift. In his new role, he will be responsible for shaping and raising standards across Zing365’s training and development offering, including leadership, sales and broker capability programmes, alongside structured learning pathways that support both regulatory requirements and real-world performance.

A holistic approach to CPD and capability

Zing365 delivers a holistic CPD and training model designed specifically for the insurance sector. This combines industry-specific digital learning, instructor-led training and knowledge assessment to help businesses and brokers move beyond a tick-box approach to compliance.

A key part of this approach is Zing Assess, our knowledge assessment solution, which enables organisations to measure understanding, identify capability gaps and demonstrate competence in a structured and auditable way. When combined with digital and live learning, this creates an integrated model aligned with how professionals actually learn and develop in practice.

Supporting long-term capability and leadership

Commenting on the appointment, James Read, Managing Director at Zing365, said:

“John’s appointment is an important step in the continued development of our offer. As the insurance sector evolves, businesses and brokers increasingly recognise that long-term success depends on the quality and capability of their people. John brings deep experience and a clear perspective on how training and development can support real performance, leadership and growth.”

John added:

“After three decades within one organisation, I wanted the next phase of my career to focus on broader impact across the insurance industry. What attracted me to Zing365 was its ambition and its belief that CPD and training should genuinely support people to do their jobs better. The opportunity to help shape standards, develop talent and support the great work already happening across insurance businesses and broker communities is an exciting one.”

Looking ahead

John’s appointment reflects Zing365’s long-term investment in supporting insurance businesses and brokers as they adapt to a more competitive, capability-driven environment. It also underlines our commitment to raising standards across insurance learning and professional development — not just to meet regulatory expectations, but to support meaningful, measurable improvement in capability.
