The course is designed to prove and easy-to understand summary of Data Security based on the requirements of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (the Act).

It cannot provide advice on specific queries which should be referred to legal advisers.

At the end of this course the learner should be able to:
- Explain the basic requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and therefore the Data Protection Act 2018 and what should be done to keep data secure
- Detail the role and powers of the Information Commissioner
- Provide examples of procedures that could be implemented to help keep data secure
In addition, there are also separate UK General Data Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection (DPA) modules.
